A natural fiber pocket! Finally! Rumparooz are fabulous one-size diapers (and that means a lot coming from all of us at Jillians Drawers)! They have so many features, where do we begin!? Inner double gussets, 4 size snap settings, less bulk, super absorbent bamboo 6R soaker inserts, and better fit for newborns!
Seriously though, the inner gusset of the fleece inside the diaper is a unique-to-Rumparooz-feature that we really love. These one-size pockets also fit a bit smaller than many other brands.
Made to fit from 6 - 40 lbs, with 4 adjustable rise settings.
Newborn: 6-10 lb.
Small: 10-17 lb.
Medium: 17-27 lb
Large: 27-40 lb
The outer shell is made from waterproof, 1000 thread-count polyester interlock knit with a urethane laminate (biodegradable TPU). The inner fabric is luxuriously plush organic bamboo velour, made from 60% bamboo rayon, 20% organic cotton, and 20% polyester.
Bamboo 6R Soaker inserts are made from 6 layers of bamboo cotton blend, made up of 50% bamboo, 20% organic cotton, and 30% polyester.
5 Layers : Full Size Insert - 3 layers, Newborn/Booster - 3 layers, contoured
The waterproof material Kanga Care uses on the Rump•a•rooz®, Lil•Joey (and any other waterproof products) is TPU, not PUL. PUL is a polyester fabric that has been laminated with a poly-urethane laminate using a solvent and chemical process. This process off-gases harmful toxic fumes that destroy the building that the fabric is produced in.
In 2008, Kanga Care started using a biodegradable TPU waterproof material. Biodegradable TPU is solvent-free. Biodegradable TPU is a polyester fabric that has been laminated with a thermoplastic polyurethane using a heat bonding process. This process is low in toxicity and is better for the natural environment. Both the TPU laminate and the polyester fabric the laminate is applied to are biodegradable. When composted they will biodegrade in 4-5 years.
From the manufacturer:
1. Cold rinse
2. Hot wash - cold rinse: only add 1/2-1/4 the recommended amount of detergent for the appropriate load size. (Please see our detergent recommendations below)
3. Cold rinse
4. Tumble dry low or hang dry.
Please do not use the sanitize cycle on your Rumparooz pockets. You may use that cycle on your inserts. The high temperature is not good for the laminate and can melt the laminate bond. Rumparooz use a TPU process for their PUL which is a heat bonding method and NOT a chemical solvent process. The TPU process is earth friendly! The only portion of the diaper that can withstand the heat of the sanitize cycle would be the inserts. If you are having residue or stink issues and feel that the sanitize cycle is in order, please use feel free to sanitize your inserts as that is most likely where the issue is held. Washing your pockets on the sanitize cycle will void the warranty.
How to prepare for first use
Because bamboo/cotton/hemp retains its natural oils, it's important to remove this waxy outer fiber layer before using them for the first time. We recommend washing them with hot sudsy water and drying them in the dryer at least three times before their first use. (That's wash - dry - wash - dry - wash - dry). To test if they're ready to use, make a pocket in the diaper and pour half a cup of water into it. If the water is not readily absorbed, then they should be washed and dried more. Rumparooz OBV One-Size Pockets diapers will be fully absorbent by about 6 washes/dries.
We recommend washing your Rumparooz OBV diapers by themselves during this break-in period (or with other diapers that also need to have these oils removed). This will reduce pilling and prevent the oils from the bamboo/cotton from coating other diapers, causing them to repel water, rather than absorb it.

If you happen to receive an item that has a sewing defect, simply fill out this form and they will get your diaper in and promptly repair and return it to you. Holes or snags that occur in any of the fabrics due to wear and tear of the fabrics are not covered under our warranty. At this time they do not have the availability to repair sewing outside of the 6 month time frame. Please see "What will void the Kanga Care warranty" below.
What is not under warranty? What is not considered a defect?
Wicking and or leaking are not a defect of any diaper. Most causes of leaking or wicking is due to the saturation of the inserts. This can easily be resolved by either changing the diaper more frequently, adding an additional insert as a booster or re-configuring your 6r soaker. A Bamboo or Hemp 6r soaker will also increase the absorbency without adding bulk to the diaper. Another frequent cause is due to sizing. If you have a Rumparooz® one size cloth diaper you can test this out by adjusting the diaper to the rise setting either up or down. If a diaper is too small or too big it can leak and/or wick.
Repelling, staining and sizing/fit issues.
General wear and tear of materials from wash and use. Due to the nature of some of our natural fabrics excessive use can result in small holes of the items. Elastic that has been dissolved or become corroded due to detergents or cleaning agents that are not on their recommended list or have given out due to time, wear and tear are not covered under the warranty.
Neglect of recommended wash and care guidelines. TPU/PUL delamination and seam sealing separation that has occurred from improper wash and care, water temperatures, detergents, laundry additives or advised against methods are not covered under warranty.
