Thirsties thought and tested long and hard before they released their long-awaited training pant! Organic cotton outer with waterproof TPU lining to keep clothing dry, easy on and off, cute prints, and made in the USA!
How do you know if this training pant is right for you? Potty learning can go so many different ways! Cloth training pants are not meant to replace diapers. They are perfect for catching small accidents, or catching when a child starts to pee on their way to the toilet. If a full pee happens, no problem! Cloth training pants will do enough to keep a big puddle from materializing, but moisture may come through to clothing. Many people find them great for generating awareness of wetness, as many children do not enjoy the feeling and this can help motivate toward toilet usage. They are also great as a "just in case" option, when most pees are happening in the toilet, but there is occasional need for back up.
Outer:Â 92% Polyester, 8% Spandex

How to prepare for first use
Because bamboo/cotton/hemp retains its natural oils, it's important to remove this waxy outer fiber layer before using them for the first time.  We recommend washing them with hot sudsy water and drying them in the dryer at least three times before their first use. (That's wash - dry - wash - dry - wash - dry).  To test if they're ready to use, make a pocket in the diaper and pour half a cup of water into it.  If the water is not readily absorbed, then they should be washed and dried more. Thirsties Potty Training Pants will be fully absorbent by about 8 washes/dries.
We recommend washing your Thirsties Potty Training Pants by themselves during this break-in period (or with other diapers that also need to have these oils removed).  This will reduce pilling and prevent the oils from the bamboo/hemp/cotton from coating other diapers, causing them to repel water, rather than absorb it.
