Oxygen bleach is recommended by cloth diaper manufacturers over chlorine bleach because it doesn't harm fabrics and waterproof covers made of PUL like chlorine bleach can. Oxygen bleach can also be used as a disinfectant without being harmful to people, animals, and plants like chlorine bleach.
Biokleen Oxygen Bleach Plus will naturally brighten, whiten, and soften your cloth diapers and baby's clothing. We absolutely love Biokleen's formulation because it is gentle and the natural grapefruit seed extract provides another natural disinfectant while also smelling naturally great. We prefer this oxygen bleach over others because it is affordable at 24 cents/ounce, all ingredients are listed, and it does not contain unnecessary additives.
Why do we love Biokleen's Oxygen Bleach?
Use as a laundry booster with every wash: Add 2 Tbsp (1 oz.) Oxygen Bleach Plus with laundry detergent for main wash.
Soak for stains: Prerinse diapers on warm with no detergent. Add 4 Tbsp (2 oz.) Oxygen Bleach Plus with laundry detergent and use warm water. Let soak for 1-6 hours. Oxygen bleach stops working after 6 hours, so there is no need to soak longer than that.
Soak for bacteria remover: Prerinse diapers on warm with no detergent. Add 4 Tbsp (2 oz.) Oxygen Bleach Plus with laundry detergent and use warm water with a low water setting (just to cover the diapers, increasing the concentration of oxygen bleach). Let soak for at least 15 minutes. Oxygen bleach needs just 15 minutes to disinfect, so there is no need to soak longer than that for bacteria removal.
Laundry Booster: Add 2 Tbsp (1 oz.) Oxygen Bleach Plus with laundry detergent, start water, add laundry. Wash whites and colors separately.
Stain Remover: Mix 2-4 Tbsp (1-2 oz.) per 16 oz. of water. Apply solution to stain on water safe materials. Allow solution to sit for 1-5 minutes. Blot stain with white towel and repeat if necessary.
Carpet Stain Remover: Mix 2-4 Tbsp (1-2 oz.) per 16 oz. of water. Remove excess waste before treating stain, Apply enough solution to saturate stain. Allow solution to sit for 1-5 minutes. Blot stain with white towel and repeat if necessary. Rinse thoroughly, let dry, then vacuum.

What is the active ingredient in the Oxygen Bleach Plus and how is it safer than traditional chlorine bleach?
The primary active ingredient in Biokleen’s Oxygen Bleach Plus is sodium per carbonate. It dissolves into water rapidly and provides powerful stain removal, cleaning, bleaching and deodorizing functions. It helps soften water and reduces the need for fabric softeners and works in cold and hot water. When it breaks down, it turns into oxygen, water and natural soda ash, making it environmentally friendly. Traditional chlorine bleach is not only caustic and poisonous, it is not biodegradable and its use releases harmful contaminants into our environment.
