About the Fabric
Both the diaper and soaker are made from 90% ultra-soft bamboo terry and 10% polyester. The polyester is added to increase durability. These bamboo diapers stay soft wash after wash.
Oeko-Tex Certified
The Bamboozle is Oeko-Tex certified – which means it has passed stringent European standards for non-toxicity. These diapers are tested for over 100 harmful substances.
A Note about Bamboo
While
bamboo has been around for a long time, it is relatively new to Western
markets. Bamboo can be as strong as steel, yet with modern processing
techniques, can be woven into fabric as soft as silk. Bamboo will
revolutionize the cloth diaper and clothing industry because it is
extremely comfortable and has many excellent properties:
- Bamboo is more absorbent than cotton
- Bamboo contains "bamboo kun", which is said to have antibacterial properties
- Bamboo readily absorbs moisture
- Bamboo wicks moisture away from the skin
- Bamboo requires minimal water for growth
- Bamboo is inherently organic - it does not require chemicals or pesticides like cotton
- Bamboo is one of the world's fastest growing plants... it regenerates when cut down and can grow 100 feet in three years
- Bamboo is cashmere soft (softer than the softest cotton) and has a natural sheen
- Bamboo does not stick to skin and will feel cool even on hot days
- Bamboo has excellent breathability
- Bamboo is 100% biodegradable

Product Origins

Made in Turkey.
About Tots Bots
Our Ethics
Fiona having a fluffy time with the production team at one of our factories in Turkey - she's the one in the brown top.
It is of the utmost importance to us here at Tots that our products
are manufactured ethically. Our terry towelling products are
manufactured in Turkey. The labour laws in Turkey are much the same as
they are in the EU and you can be sure that all the workers involved in
producing our products are well treated, paid fairly, have excellent
working conditions and are over the age of 16.
We manufacture all of our wraps, nappy bags, change mats, etc. at our own factory in Glasgow.
Both Tots Bots and our partners in Turkey value our staff and the
skills that they bring to our operations. We are proud of all them and
the quality of the garments that they produce.
Environment
As the core of our business is to provide a more environmentally
friendly alternative to disposables it is of the utmost importance to
us that we minimise the impact our company has on the planet.
Turkish Production
- To ensure minimum carbon dioxide emissions all fibres, yarns
etc. used in Turkey are sourced in Turkey (Bamboo fibre is the only
exception as China is the only source currently available to us). The
nappies are transported to us by truck to further reduce carbon dioxide
emissions.
- There are no emissions to air or water from any of the factories. Everything is filtered.
- 90% of grid electricity used is Hydro generated and therefore does not produce carbon dioxide.
- There
is absolutely no fabric waste. All remnants are sold to re-claimers who
process it back into yarns and fillings for pillows.
Packaging
- All retail packaging must be sufficient to pack the contents
and no more. We do not believe in 'shelf grabbing'. There is nothing
worse than purchasing a product that has more plastic in the packaging
than the product itself.
- Wherever possible our packaging is
reusable. The multi-packs come in a handy drawstring cotton bag and the
day-packs come in a zip closing PVC bag – great for all those pens and
crayons that accumulate!
- We reuse boxes for shipping where we can and recycle those we can't
Waste
- Like most folk at home we also recycle all plastics, cans and paper waste produced in the factory and offices. We use a local company to do this so anyone in the Glasgow area might want to give them a
shout – they take all the hassle out of recycling for you and are great
bunch of guys.
